Mahender Singh a.k.a the ‘Bulldozer’ hails from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Mahender started playing kabaddi at the age of 14 and got his first break when he made his debut for the Services at the age of 19. The aggressive defender models himself on fellow Kabaddi player Rohit Kumar and regards Rohit as his biggest inspiration in kabaddi.
Not many were confident about Mahender’s abilities and doubted his inclusion in the top 7 playing squad in season 5. However, Mahender used the opportunity as a springboard to success and proved all his critics wrong.
‘Mahi’ as he’s fondly called by his fellow team mates, went on to become a vital figure for Bengaluru Bulls in season 5. He was given the title of the most dependable player for his season record-equaling effort of 11 tackle points in the match against U.P Yoddhas. Mahi also has the title for one of the most successful defenders’ in season 5. By getting the highest tackle points for the Bulls in the season; 57 points in 22 matches, Mahender stands 9th in the list of the most successful defenders for season 5 of the Pro Kabaddi League.
In the same year Mahender was also a part of the Indian team that won silver at the senior nationals in 2017 and gold at the federation cup in 2018. The Bulldozer is certainly a strong addition to the Bulls squad for season 6 of the league.
